PG&E Making Life More Difficult… and Expensive

PG&E’s new rules about electric & gas placement creates new challenges for homeowners.

If your existing electric meter is not more than 12″ from any of the gas meter components (including regulator), PG&E will not allow us to put a new panel in that location.

This is not a huge problem for homeowners whose PG&E service is overhead, from a pole. If your electric service arrives underground, this is an enormous challenge that will take 6+ months and somewhere between $7K and $20K depending on how far your house is from PG&E’s underground services.
